Abstract

For a few days during 1991, VALHALLA will rise again in Denmark. As will be remembered, VALHALLA was, in Scandinavian mythology, the “hall assigned to those who have died in battle, in which they feast with Odin”. This time around, the hall will be assigned to the membership of the Standing Conference on Organisational Symbolism (SCOS) and others with a professional interest in the issue of organisational culture. Feasting there will be, all right, and hopefully on the occasion some major advances in “cultivated” ways of understanding modern organisations.
