Abstract

The computer, a key technological innovation of this century, has revolutionized the management and dissemination of information. It allows people around the globe to share complex information to their mutual benefit. Increasingly, it allows people with little or no computer training to access vast databases so that they can receive customized answers quickly and easily in response to their requests.
