Abstract

ALTHOUGH its existence as an independent organisation dates only from 1943, the seeds from which the American National Association of Corrosion Engineers grew were planted many years before. Perhaps the first formal group in which the association can be said to have had its beginning was the Mid‐Continent Cathodic Protection Association, an organisation principally of pipeline operators, which held its first meeting March 9, 1936, in Houston.
