Abstract

Two key figures in any retail organisation are the merchandising executive and the account, and the successful functioning of each of these is crucial to any business. Yet in superficial terms their motivations, their objectives and their methods of working may appear to be not only substantially different but perhaps even in conflict. Co‐operation between the two is essential if the business is to prosper; in this article Norman Highton offers suggestions as to how this might be brought about.
