A modular approach to sensor system architecture

Abstract

Sensing systems with microprocessor control have to be divided into several levels of sensing system architecture. Here a sensing system based on transit and state functions is examined together with a modular approach to sensing system architecture. An arc welding robot with a sensor is taken as an example.
