New automatic optical test system

Lloyd Doyle Limited has announced redline&#153 a new addition to their range of systems designed to detect faults on bare Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). The new system builds on the success of the EXCALIBUR and phasor Automatic optical test (AOT) platforms and will enable maximum fault detection on all PCB image types.

Redline&#153 is a reflective-light based AOT system which gives maximum flexibility to users allowing them to optically test a wide variety of PCB substrate/ surface combinations. The unique system incorporates a new style of illumination system that is suited to contemporary copper clad laminates such as "reverse treated foils" and chemically treated "double-treat" materials. The imaging capabilities of the new system easily cope with these materials in spite of their inherent low- contrast.

This new development will be available as a stand-alone system or it can be retrofitted to existing AOT systems as an upgrade.
