Union Tool's new European technical service centre
Union Tool Europe SA, Switzerland, have announced the creation of a UK subsidiary to operate a Technical Service Research and Development Centre in the UK. Centrally located, in Leicester, Union Tool UK Limited will give increased engineering support to the company's European printed circuit board customers and distributor network.
Jon Hay, general manager, has been recruited to launch the centre. An experienced business manager, with extensive knowledge of the European drilling and routing market, his remit is to establish a high level of engineering capability, backed up by a fully equipped tool management facility responding to future e-commerce demands.
This investment will particularly consolidate the position of the UK distributor, ACS Industries (Billingshurst, West Sussex) which, in 1985, were instrumental in bringing the "tool management concept" into the UK, along with Union Tool's range of PCB cutting tools.
