Lloyd Doyle launches new inspection concept

Keywords Lloyd Doyle

Lloyd Doyle launched its new Excaliber 5000X2TT Automatic Optical Test Machine at Productronica 99 in Munich

The TT or twin table concept enables the machine to inspect PCB's on a virtually continuous basis. The PCB's are introduced to the machine by means of an automatic loader which places each board on to one vacume table at a time whilst removing the other which has been inspected.

When the PCB is laid on one of the tables it automatically adjusts the board for alignment, removing the necessity for tooling pins.

The Excaliber 5000X2TT is capable of inspecting up to 700 square feet per hour (70m2 per hour) and also up to a panel size of 30" x 30" (760mm x 760mm). The TT is also capable of inspecting BGA's. Larger machines are available to special order.

Lloyd Doyle chairman, Roy Lloyd stated: "The Excaliber 5000X2TT is a new concept in PCB inspection; we can tailor make the machine to customers' requirements, especially in the area of loading, fault detection and the ability to flip PCB's to examine both sides on a continuous basis. This machine can be integrated into any production line". Lloyd continued: "We are very pleased with the industry's reaction to the new machine. A major European PCB manufacturer has already committed to the machine on the booth".
