Rütgers AG, Germany have announced that it has signed an agreement to purchase the Laminate Systems business of AlliedSignal Inc. The agreement will enable Rütgers to expand its global laminates business by combining the European strength of its Isola subsidiary's with Laminate Systems' strong Asia Pacific presence, and at the same time enhance its North American presence. Finalisation of the sale was anticipated within the third quarter 1999.
"This acquisition positions us well strategically to serve the growing demands of our printed circuit board customer base as they become more global", said Eberhard von Perfall, chairman of Rütgers.
"This strategic combination will result in a company with very talented people, a strong technology base and tremendous customer focus", said Steve Hochhauser, president Laminate Systems.
