This book has the stated objective of assisting those working in radiology departments to address the requirements of clinical governance, both within the department and outside using many suggested audit tools. It also provides some background to the development of clinical governance and attempts to tackle the still fluid issues around revalidation. It succeeds admirably in its objectives. The book is easily readable and well presented. The audit recipes may not be appropriate for some settings, but can be used as a springboard for more locally relevant projects.

Resource is always an issue, but the book demonstrates that much good work can come from relatively small resource requirement and there is little excuse for doing nothing.

All UK radiologists will have a copy. It would make useful reading for all clinicians, both for its background information and ideas which could be adapted for other settings, and also perhaps to provide a glimpse into the somewhat mysterious workings of a radiology department.
