The purpose of this section is to alert readers of Asian Libraries to new products, services and resources that may be of professional value or interest. Information is taken from publicity provided by the producers and is not evaluated or assessed for accuracy. Inclusion in this section does not mean the Editors of Asian Libraries or MCB University Press in any way endorse a particular product, service or resource. An item listed here subsequently may, if appropriate, also be reviewed in a relevant section of Asian Libraries (a new journal, for example, in the Reviews section).

OCLC AsiaLink

OCLC AsiaLink recently relocated from California to OCLC headquarters in Dublin, Ohio. AsiaLink is OCLC's acquisitions and collection development service for Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese (CJKV) materials. Staff are experts in these Asian languages and can work with a library to establish, maintain and expand CJKV offerings to meet users' needs. The service offers pre-selected collections of books (start-up kits) at the adult or juvenile level, as well as a customised collection development service which allows a library to determine the subject matter and format of materials that AsiaLink staff will acquire on its behalf. Full-level OCLC cataloguing is provided as part of the service. For more information e-mail marcia_stout@oclc.org
