Abrasion is no problem for hose from Icore

Supplied in the UK by Icore International, the latest Parker Stratoflex 191 PTFE high-pressure hose from Parker Hannifin Corporation, Stratoflex Products Division, claims four times the abrasion resistance of comparable polyester covered hoses, it is said to be ideal choice for use in the hydraulic systems for aircraft landing gear, and other similarly demanding aerospace applications.

This hose, which is offered by Icore in the form of complete assemblies fabricated to the user's specification, features a four-layer construction.

The inner tube is extruded conductive PTFE which minimises triboelectric effects, and which is reinforced with a high-density braid of corrosion-resistant steel wire. Corrosion resistance is further enhanced by a PTFE barrier layer, and an integral braided Cordura outer cover provides the hose's exceptional abrasion resistance.

Parker Stratoflex 191 PTFE hose assemblies from Icore are available with tube sizes from 0.25 to 0.75in., and a 1.0-inch version will be added to the range in the near future. All sizes have a working pressure rating of 3,000 psi (208bar), and all are tested at twice the rated working pressure.

Hose in the Parker Stratoflex 191 range is said to meet or exceeds all requirements of the AS1339 (formerly MIL-H-38360) specification, except those relating to temperature. It has an operating temperature range of 253ºC to +135ºC, with brief excursions to +148ºC.
