Users of Poli co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM) fitted with EPC Power control systems can now upgrade the system to increase the speed of vectoring up to a reported 50 per cent, reduce measuring cycles by up to 20 per cent and, depending on the age of the machine, improve measuring accuracy.

The £3,250 upgrade for machines built since 1995, now available from the original control motherboard developer Europac Metrology of Crewe, will also enable the Poli CMM to accept all major measuring softwares thus overcoming any limitations and software advances since the original package provided with the machine.

Users of Poli CMMs installed since 1998 do not require a motherboard change. Instead a chip exchange is available costing £2,500 that negates the customised interface between the CMM and control software which tends to reduce the speed of operation of the machine. The chip comes with a step-by-step installation video that instructs how it should be installed and bring the machine right up to date.
