Cincinnati Machine, producer of automated composites processing systems, reports two new multi-million dollar orders from two top European aerospace manufacturers, Alenia and EADS Airbus. The orders, which started shipping at the end of 2001 and will continue through 2003, strengthen Cincinnati Machine's position as a supplier of choice for aerospace manufacturing equipment.
A four-machine order placed by EADS Airbus of Illescas, Spain, consists of two High Contour Tape Laying machines and two Viper' Fiber Placement Systems. The machines will be used to produce a variety of composite parts for the Airbus A380 double- decker airliner scheduled to enter service in 2005.
The second order for two High Contour Tape Laying machines has been placed by Alenia, located in Foggia, Italy. The machines will join two other Cincinnati Tape Layers already in production at the Foggia plant and will be used to produce wing sections for the European Fighter jet.
