The UK company Brookhouse Holdings plc has been awarded a Tame Valley Partnership Manufacturing and Inward Investment grant in recognition of the significant investment made at the company's Frederick House, Hyde factory. The award of the grant was marked by a recent visit to Frederick House by the mayor and mayoress of Tameside, accompanied by representatives of the grant-awarding bodies, when they had an opportunity to see examples of the investment in action (Plate 13). These include a new surface treatment facility, which has allowed Brookhouse Aerospace to dramatically increase both its capacity for surface treatment and the quality of its surface treatment, for the aerospace industry and the general engineering sector. The visiting party also received an insight into the wide range of projects undertaken on the site, from assembling detailed metal components for fighter aircraft to manufacturing precision jigs.
