MCE launches high speed 1553 databus products

Keywords Micro Circuit Engineering, Data bus, Controllers

Micro Circuit Engineering (MCE) – which has designed and manufactured databus products based on the 1553 protocol for many years – is upgrading its 1553 remote terminals and bus controllers to operate at up to 10Mbit/s.

According to MCE, the move responds to customers' needs to increase the data transmission rate, for example in miniature munitions/stores interfaces applications, from the current level of 1Mbit/s. The new products will meet the Society of Aerospace Engineers' (SAE) new high speed 1553 protocol for serial communications and can be customised for specific requirements and applications.

MCE's new range includes a remote terminal and bus controller for dispense electronics applications which runs remote terminal (RT) and bus controller (BC) protocols and provides a VME/multibus interface; a remote terminal for dispense electronics and miniature munitions applications which runs RT protocol and has a VME/multibus interface; and a remote terminal for miniature munitions applications which runs RT and provides a simple interface to other systems.
