A.J. Walter Aviation, specialists in the supply and maintenance of a wide range of aircraft components, has just signed a two-year contract with HAECO (Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company). The agreement is to support their Tristar (Ll0-11) maintenance programme throughout the world.

Initially, this contract provides for the total support of two Ll0-11 500 series aircraft undergoing a D Check and Rear Spare Modification, in the fourth quarter of 2000. Further maintenance support initiatives will follow, maximising the efficiencies that this partnership brings.

In addition, A.J. Walter Aviation has agreed to purchase HAECO's surplus inventory, valued at HK$5M.

Christopher Whiteside, managing director of A.J. Walter comments:

HAECO know that A.J. Walter has the largest and most comprehensive stock of Tristar components in the world. This makes us the ideal choice to support their Tristar maintenance business. This contract consolidates our working relationship and we are delighted to work more closely with HAECO, improving service and turn-around for all customers.

In 1999, A.J. Walter purchased the entire British Airways L-1011 inventory servicing the Tristar –1 to –500 series. This comprehensive inventory of more than 30,000 items, added to the HAECO surplus, brings the total value of stock held by A.J. Walter to well over $30m, providing immediate availability to commercial and military customers.
