I-Logix Inc., a provider of enterprise solutions for embedded applications development, has launched Version 2.1 of Statemate MAGNUM. With its substantial workflow improvements, system engineers can now reportedly create specification models more quickly, allowing them to focus on engineering and analysis tasks rather than the modelling effort. In addition, Statemate MAGNUM 2.1's new ease-of-use enhancements are thought to enable new users to take advantage of the product's capabilities with less training.

The tighter integration between Statemate, MAGNUM and Rhapsod.y in MicroC provided by the 2.1 release is said to enable a complete concept-to-code environment for the automotive software industry. This it is believed boosts productivity by allowing engineering teams to create electronic visual specifications with Statemate MAGNUM, that can be communicated to suppliers and implementation teams, greatly reducing errors due to misinterpretation of textual documents. With Rhapsody in MicroC, suppliers in turn can reportedly provide visual software models and associated code back to the engineering teams for comparison with the original specifications, all based on a common electronic representation. In addition, interactive test vector automation capabilities have been added which it is thought allows system engineers to easily and quickly capture functional and behavioural test scenarios, drastically reducing the amount of time spent defining test scenarios and testing the final product.
