Aliens Team Ltd, a Hampson Industries plc subsidiary, has established Jet-Spares.Com Limited, a company name to be used to promote gas-turbine engine component services on the Internet.

Identifying a need in 1996 to cater for the demand for replacement components that a major UK aircraft gas-turbine manufacturer found uneconomical to produce, Aliens Team has worked in a spirit of co-operation with the engine builder to provide aircraft operators with newly-made engine parts from a qualified source. Now, with the new name for use on the Internet, the company aims to work in partnerships with overseas manufacturers of gas-turbine engines whether for use on land, sea or air.

Hampson considers that the service will particularly appeal to those having problems in sourcing complex products. Components are currently supplied to support, repair and overhaul gas turbine engines that have been in service for some years, often decades. It is believed that creating the company Jet-Spares.Com Limited for the overseas market will provide an Internet presence with a name that will be universally recognised.
