The independent composites manufacturing and assembly group, Brookhouse, has promoted two production managers to the board of directors. Mr Mike Howarth and Mr John Gaskarth have been appointed directors of production at Brookhouse Composites and Brookhouse Patterns, respectively.

With 28 years' experience at British Aerospace in Preston, ultimately as Production Manager, John Gaskarth came to Brookhouse in 1989. His role as Production Tooling Manager has been fundamental to the success of the Brookhouse organisation as a whole, which has grown to comprise seven companies.

In particular, John's experience has helped the company develop and expand its activities in aircraft engineering. Today, Brookhouse technology is applied to aircraft from the European Airbus to the Typhoon Eurofighter. In the Typhoon's case, Brookhouse Patterns will supply the tooling, or moulds, for all the carbon fibre composite components to be used on the Eurofighter, while sister company Brookhouse Aerospace will supply workshop, test and ground equipment to assist in its manufacture and assembly.

Mike Howarth helped to start up Brookhouse Composites in 1986, just a year after joining Brookhouse Patterns. As Production Manager he has been responsible for the introduction of new manufacturing techniques and processes for many composite components.
