Gas Turbine Performance is an applied reference for all those who design, manufacture and operate gas turbines. It is a comprehensive and practical guide to all the main aspects of performance, including topics not well covered elsewhere, such as transient performance, starting, windmilling and analysis of engine test data.

Gas Turbine Performance will be of interest to those in the gas turbine industry, and gas turbine operators and purchasers such as airframe manufacturers, airlines and air forces, power utilities, the oil and gas industry and equipment suppliers.

For the last six years, Philip Walsh has worked for Rolls-Royce Industrial and Marine Gas Turbines Ltd in the UK, where he is currently chief of design technology and advanced engineering. This role encompasses all of the aerothermal, combustion and mechanical technologies, the functional responsibility for layout design, development and manufacturing, and also advanced projects.

Paul Fletcher joined Rolls-Royce Industrial and Marine Gas Turbines Ltd in 1990 as a principal performance engineer. In 1991 he took the key role in performance work for the WR21 engine for the US Navy. This was highly challenging, as the engine is intercooled and recuperated, and also has variable area power turbine nozzle guide vanes. Currently he is working in the advanced projects field.
