Cormorant wins Canadian SAR competition

Cormorant wins Canadian SAR competition

The Canadian Government announced that 15 Cormorant helicopters have been selected to meet the search and rescue (SAR) requirements of the Candian Forces (Plate 14). The Cormorant is manufactured jointly by Agusta of Italy and GKN Westland Helicopters of the UK.

The Cormorant is designed to operate both day and night in the most adverse weather conditions, including known icing. Cormorant incorporates modern design techniques and advanced technology features that make it the most capable, long-range search and rescue helicopter available.
