Power clamping cylinders now available in metric sizes

Jergens, Inc. has announced that it is now manufacturing power damping cylinders to metric specifications.
The cylinders are said to be extremely versatile, making them useful for a wide variety of power clamping applications requiring high hold-down forces. Included are swing cylinders, which can be used as single- or double-acting rotating clamps, or as push/pull cylinders. Also included are block-style single-or double-acting cylinders, threaded cylinders, miniature cylinders, pressure point cylinders, and hollow rod cylinders. Pressure point cylinders are designed to be used in space-restricted areas. Hollow rod cylinders are ideal for converting existing conventional fixtures to power clamping.

Also available are hydraulically-locked work supports which, unlike clamps, do not exert a force on the workpiece. Rather, they are used to support the part being machined, offering resistance to clamping forces.
