Guide to megum rubber-to-metal bonding agents

A three-section 29-page guide to Chemetall's Megum range of rubber-to-metal bonding agents is now available in the English language.

Section 1 is a general introduction to the use of Megum bonding agents. It covers a general description and properties of Megum bonding agents; storage and handling; process control and test procedures; methods of application; methods of bonding; control of rubber vulcanisation.

Section 2 deals with the preparation of substrates for Megum application. This includes substrate preparation methods mechanical and chemical; a checklist for substrate pretreatment; plus tables on pretreatment of ferrous and non-ferrous substrates and pretreatment of plastic and cured rubber substrates.

Section 3 covers aqueous chemical pretreatments. Following an introduction to rubber-to-metal bonding, the section describes the various aqueous chemical pretreatments used (including phosphate conversion) for the preparation of substrates prior to the application of the bonding agent.
