PTFE diaphragms and bellows give better protection

Keywords: Ceetak, Diaphragms, Bellows

Ceetak is launching its latest range of PTFE diaphragms and bellows. Produced for Ceetak by Parker Hannifin Seals Division, the new products are being launched to provide customers with a cost-effective and reliable method of protecting systems and equipment in applications throughout industry. In particular, the new diaphragms and bellows have been developed for applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and offshore sectors, where high temperatures or aggressive media are encountered.

The PTFE range of diaphragms and bellows are capable of withstanding a wide variety of temperatures up to 260°C and can resist prolonged exposure to most chemicals or process solutions.

In addition, they offer superior dimensional stability, are stress and crack resistant and do not become brittle with age, regardless of fluctuations in operating conditions; they can also be used in lubricated or dry running areas, and have excellent wear characteristics to give an extended operating life. The latest range of PTFE diaphragms are ideal for controlling or separating the flow of aggressive media in valves and pumps, or as spacers in equipment such as heat exchangers, while the range of PTFE bellows can be used to provide flexible connections in pipework and to protect glass tubes or vessels, or as universal joints, slide units and special sealing mechanisms. In each case, the particular mechanical and physical properties of PTFE, combined with ease of forming and handling during the manufacturing cycle, allow Ceetak to offer a wide choice of standard sizes, with external diameters from 10.0 mm to 2.0 m, and for use in applications where operating pressure are up to 10 bar.

Diaphragms and bellows can also be supplied with flanges reinforced with glass fibre. Ceetak also offers the full range of PTFE seals, including FEP encapsulated O Rings, springs and O Ring energised hydraulic and pneumatic seals.
