Frost electroplating has major development success with a new reel to reel facility

Frost electroplating, specialist electroplaters to the automotive, electrical, electronic and general engineering industries based in Birmingham, announces a very successful investment in reel to reel plating. The company has invested over £750,000 in the development of two new plating lines which will enable them to supply high quality, competitively priced reel to reel work all over Europe (Plates 5 and 6).
Owing to ground breaking innovations by the Frost electroplating technical team, the new lines can handle double the previous coil weights and work at much faster speeds, up to five times faster typically. The lines use new generation chemistry which improves the plating rate and achieve much better precious metal control. Water loss is also kept to a minimum so that the lines are more environmentally friendly.

All these developments have lowered costs and greatly increased capacity for silver, tin, tin/lead and nickel plating at the firms site in heart of the jewellery quarter in Birmingham and have also enabled Frost Electroplating to re-introduce selective gold plating to its portfolio after a 10 year gap.
