NACE International have announced NACE standard TM0102-2002, "Measurement of protective coating electrical conductance on underground pipelines", a new publication written by NACE Task Group 030.

NACE standard TM0102-2002 presents guidelines and procedures for use primarily by corrosion control personnel in the pipeline industry to determine the general condition of a pipeline coating.

These techniques are used to measure the coating conductance on sections of underground pipelines. Included are procedures for measurement using the general method, as well as attenuation methods.

This test method applies only to pipe coated with dielectric coatings.

The appendices of this standard include a procedure for calibrating four wire test stations, standard pipe data tables, and an example of the coating conductance test procedure using the general method.
