Sandvik Steel reports that it has completed its largest ever UK order for seamless titanium tubes for a chemical application (Plate 3).

Won against international competition, the order, valued at around £0.5 million, covered the supply of Commercial Grade 2 seamless titanium tubes for the replacement of two heat exchangers at one of Du Pont SA Polyester's PTA plants at Wilton, Middlesbrough. The project was managed by Du Pont Polyester Technologies and Kvaerner. Sandvik supplied small diameter titanium tubes to a delivery schedule specified by the appointed fabricator, RMF Engineering Ltd of Sheffield.
