Dunlop Industrial Hose, part of the Unipoly group of companies, launches two new sand and shotblast hoses which, they claim, have been shown in independent trials to outperform many competitors in this demanding application, with cost and uptime benefits.

The hose is reported to be manufactured using the latest extrusion technology for seamless integrity. The yarn reinforcement is said to be specially designed with a high twist and is applied at an extremely close pitch. By overcoming the risk of gaps that are usually associated with tyrecord constructions, Dunlop believes that it has ensured a high safety factor at normal working pressure.

According to Dunlop, yarns are treated to add stiffness to the hose, complementing the extra hard and wear-resistant tube to yield a product with robust, non-kink construction. The tube has an abrasion resistance exceeding 70mm3 when measured using the methods specified in DIN 53516, ensuring smooth, even flow of the blast media for a long service life.

Excellent adhesion claimed of the hose components prevents early failure through air ingress into the hose carcass via the screws holding the fitting. Dunlop believes that superior construction, together with precise outside dimensioning of the tube for excellent coupling holding, ensures high reliability in service.

Superblast comes in two ranges, offering a choice of tube thickness, and in standard lengths of 20 or 40 metres or customised lengths. Dunlop Industrial Hose, which has a large hose assembly operation in the UK, can also provide the Superblast range in fitted assemblies, if required.
