In the World Patent 98/11277 T R Oil Services Limited describe a corrosion inhibitor consisting of ions which contain sulphur and oxygen (other than sulphate or sulphite ions), and its use to inhibit corrosion in anaerobic and/or aqueous environments. The preferred form of inhibitor is thiosulphate ions.
