http://www.saseoat.com/SAS Automation, Ltd.

SAS Automation provides a range of automation equipment. This includes robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) equipment, robotic grippers, robots, end effectors, sprue nippers, CNC degaters, and belt conveyors. Their EOAT and gripper systems can be used with almost all makes of robot. SAS Automation now has a Web site providing information on how to build your own EOAT (http://www.eoat.com).

This is quite a good Web site but one which is quite difficult to navigate as it contains so much information.

ICICS was established in 1985 as the Centre for Integrated Computer Systems Research (CICSR) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. The Institute is dedicated to advanced computer systems research with industrial and manufacturing applications and combines the expertise of 96 faculty members and over 400 graduate students. These members are mainly drawn from the Departments of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Their research focuses on computer systems and communications, computational intelligence, controls, robotics and CAD/CAM, integrated system design/software engineering, mathematical aspects of computations and applications, multimedia, graphics and human-computer interaction, and VLSI design and microelectronics.

This is a superb academic site that provides lots of information about their research and industrial collaborations.

GEBO engineers and manufactures high-speed automated conveyor systems for the packaging industry, primarily supplying the consumer products, food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. They are a global company with plants and facilities spread over north and south America, Europe, south east Asia, and in Australia and New Zealand. They can provide automation systems, mechanical design, control and electrical design, process piping, software development, vision systems, full turnkey solutions, and consultancy services.

This is a well presented site which is available in English, French, and Spanish.

http://www.flexible-gripper.comSynnelius Engineering AB

This is a rather poor Web site for a Swedish Consultancy firm. It does provide plenty of information about their patented flexible gripper (US Patent Number 6260902 and Swedish Patent Number 9800945-9). The gripper is available in a range of sizes and is suitable for a wide selection of applications.
