The ATRIUM laboratory was originally located within the USC Marshall School of Business and now operates as a virtual research enterprise. The laboratory is designed as an advanced technology resource for investigating and understanding management and managed processes. It aims to investigate how advanced information systems and technologies can contribute in the production, operation, and evolution of large-scale business processes and services.

Additional information can also be found about simulation and modeling for software acquisition (SAMSA) at http://www.usc.edu/dept/ATRIUM/Papers/SAMSA/samcover.html and experience with software process simulation and modeling at http://www.usc.edu/dept/ATRIUM/Papers/JSS98/JSS98.html

Keywords: Simulation, Automation

The Northwest Wisconsin Manufacturing Outreach Center is a partnership of six institutions working with small and medium-size manufacturers in the north-western region of Wisconsin, to modernize and streamline their operations. The NWMOC provides a wide array of services to assist companies in their drive toward modernization, including operations assessments, on-site technical assistance, technical training, and seminars.

This site provides an easily understood description of the services that can be given.

Keywords: Simulation, Automation

The RealSim project is part of the IST-Program of the European Commission. It aims to develop tools for efficient simulation of complex, tightly-coupled multi-physics systems, with real-time constraints, and to reduce product development cost and time by design optimization and by hardware-in-the-loop simulation for assessment, training and test automation purposes. The project is divided into two parts. First, it addresses technology development including object-oriented modeling of multi-physics systems, symbolic transformation of large scale models for generation of real-time code, parallel and distributed simulation to achieve real-time performance of hardware-in-the-loop systems and to enhance the performance of multi-criteria optimization. Second, it focuses on applications in the areas of design optimization of robots and simulation of power system transients.

Keywords: Simulation, Automation

Intrax Technology Group Ltd uses simulation modeling to study the effects of change on supply chain systems from a "total systems" perspective. Intrax takes the "total systems" approach, because, if the performance of an individual process (subsystem) is optimized, then the overall performance of the total system may be sub-optimized due to the interaction that exists between the processes. This interaction among processes must be considered before the effects of change can be fully understood.

This is a good site that contains interesting links and comprehensive product information.
