PMC is an international engineering, consulting, and software development and solutions firm specialising in finding and designing ways to improve quality, efficiency, and production in the manufacturing and service industries. The firm sells software solutions produced both by itself and other developers in productivity application tools, including layout optimization, process simulation and scheduling. Its Web site gives an introduction to the company and its activities, with scheduling being picked out for particular detail, an 11-page tutorial being available on line. A long page of case studies gives a clear view of the company's products' capabilities and track record, and a links page gives access to sites of its customers and other simulation product providers. There is a news page and an up-to-date calendar of appropriate events, in addition to the company's history and philosophy.

http://www.aesop.de/Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd

Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd provides industrial companies with computer-aided production engineering (CAPE) tools to fully computerise the industrial process and to achieve a seamless transition from design to production. Filling the gap between CADCAM and automated production equipment, Tecnomatix supply a suite of tools suitable for a range of industries. ROBCAD is a set of CAPE tools for design, simulation, optimization and off-line programming of automated and manual manufacturing systems, VALISYS is a set of software tools to define, predict, measure and analyse tolerances throughout the industrial process and EXALINE software tools provide a virtual PCB manufacturing environment. PART chooses the best machining methods to fit existing cutting tools and machines, both automatically and interactively. DYNAMO is a dynamic digital mock-up software that integrates seamlessly with major CAD systems and finally SIMPLE++ is a tool for planning, simulation and optimization of manufacturing plants, production systems and processes. Outlines of the above products are online at the Web site, with a handful of case studies and a long list of press releases. News and events, a contact page and employment opportunities complete the site.

http://www.autosim.com/AutoSimulations

AutoSimulations provides 3D simulation and scheduling software for manufacturers, with products for material handling, warehousing and distribution, semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, and other industries. The site offers much the same as the above with product information, news and contact details in addition to a number of related links.

http://www.promodel.com/Promodel Corporation

ProModel sell the ProModel suite of simulation optimisation tools. Their site offers the usual blend of press releases, product information, contact details and previous project successes, though in addition ProModel includes downloadable product demonstrations and a tutorial, as well as movies showing the software in action. The "user's lounge" gives access to FAQs, tips and updates, though as the name suggests this is exclusively for existing users of the package.

http://www.scs.org/The Society for Computer Simulation International

Claims to be the principal technical society devoted to the advancement of simulation and allied computer arts in all fields with its purpose being to facilitate communication among professionals in the field of simulation. The abstracted contents pages of its published journals Simulation and Transactions are available at the site, as is a catalogue of publications, though these pages appear untouched since 1997. The conference information is current, however, and there is archive material from previous simulation conferences including abstracts and selected complete papers. A page of links gives access to other simulation organisations.

http://eurosim.tuwien.ac.at/eurosim/EUROSIM

EUROSIM, the Federation of European Simulation Societies, was set up in 1989 to provide a European forum for regional and national simulation societies to promote the advancement of modelling and simulation in industry, research and development. Simulation News Europe (SNE) is the journal of EUROSIM, containing reports and essays on simulation, the contents pages of which can be viewed at the site. The book reviews from the journal are available in full and appear to be a useful resource and a complete sample copy is available to download.

http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/home/rjp/UKSim/The United Kingdom Simulation Society

UKSim is the national society for all aspects of simulation, including continuous, discrete event and hardware. It is the English-speaking society within the EUROSIM European Simulation Federation of simulation societies. Its solitary Web page contains little more than this information, and appears not to have been updated in two years.

The Modeling and Simulation Society of Australia Inc. (MSSA), formerly the Simulation Society of Australia Inc. (SSA), is an affiliate of the International Association for Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (IMACS). The aims of the society are to promote, develop and assist in the study of all areas of modeling and simulation. The Web page is a vehicle for the society's newsletter, though, seems neglected. Previous editions are available to read, and there is contact information for the society, though no guarantee that it is still current.

http://www.rosl.com/Robot Simulations Ltd

Robot Simulations are developers of the Workspace® PC-based robot simulation and offline programming software and the Calibration Plus calibration device. This is one of the more attractive Web sites for robot simulation packages, and contains the latest information on the products as well as demonstration software and an extensive library of virtual reality robots to download. There is a list of case studies, a bulletin board with archive for informal discussion and a dealer list, as well as the usual contact information and employment opportunities.
