"We want to evolve with the technology of our customers", explains Herbert Hollfelder who adds that the company's philosophy is "Innovation in technology". With this new one-component foam dispensing process, the company does not only open up to a new clientele, but to a large potential market as well. In this field, Altotech is closely working with Stäubli, SEVA-Syspro & Equipment- and Norton France Performance Plastics, two companies of the French group Saint-Gobain.

With 25 employees, the firm has acquired a very good reputation. The installations are developed and produced in Bergkirchen. After the assembly and shipment worldwide, these systems are regularly controlled.

In this application, two six-axis Stäubli robots are key elements (Plate 6). The first one, a RX90, picks up the rough part on a transport system and places it on the holder inside a foam machine. After the waterproofing dispensing by the RX130, the RX90 removes the part from the holder and verifies the joint quality with a special sensor. Finally, it places the tested part on the transport system.

High repeatability, precision and outstanding trajectory tracking ability have been the key elements in the Stäubli RX robot integration.

Globally, Altotech has sold over ten complete foam dispensing installations, including car tail light assembly and handling with Stäubli cleanroom robots. In addition particularly high tech assembly and gluing installations will be shipped in the next few months to European customers.
