Significance

Abassi suggested that Baghdad had rebuffed US proposals for a three-year timeline. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani faces pressure for a withdrawal from Iran-backed militias that are key partners in his ruling bloc, the Shia Coordination Framework (SCF).
