US Christian Right remains attached to Donald Trump

The movement expanded its political influence during Donald Trump's presidency and a central question for Republicans now is how far its loyalty remains attached to Trump individually rather than to the party.


  • Polls show that evangelicals overwhelmingly support a Trump presidential candidacy in 2024.
  • The Christian Right accounts for 15-18% of the eligible voting population, similar in size to the African-American and Hispanic communities.
  • Changing demographics may temper the movement's political orientation, but not in the short-to-medium term.
