US President Trump’s 2020 re-election is not assured

The next president will be chosen on November 3, 2020.


  • Much media attention will focus on the Democratic candidates from January until at least April, amid early primaries.
  • A brokered Democratic convention would extend this until July, preventing Trump from setting the agenda until afterwards.
  • State laws requiring Trump to release his tax returns to appear on the ballot could hurt Republican congressional candidates.
