Significance

The Philippines will hold a Halal Tourism Expo on April 22-24, one of several initiatives to capture an increasing share of the fastest-growing segment in South-east Asian tourism -- travel and accommodation that adheres to Islamic law. Manila hopes that its Philippine Halal Tourism Project will lead to millions of dollars of new investment in infrastructure, technology and services.
