Abstract

Purpose

This paper aims to review the latest management developments across the globe and pinpoint practical implications from cutting-edge research and case studies.

Design/methodology/approach

Findings

The study surveyed 1611 Qatar residents, to ascertain their attitudes to men and women's roles, both at home and in wider society. Insights transpired that women here have gained autonomy in greater access to education, and in financial control, yet there remains much progress still to be made in seeing women move into political positions and senior leadership positions in business. The underlying patriarchal structure is evident in results such as that 75% preferred being flown by a male pilot. A mass reframing of women's roles requires all prongs of society to relinquish the habit of patriarchal messaging.
