Learning from experience
Abstract
Promotes the idea that, to be effective, a learner needs four types of ability, these are: to become completely and openly involved, without bias, in new concrete experiences; use different perspectives to observe and reflect on those experiences; integrate those observations to create abstract concepts that form logical theories; and apply those theories in decision‐making and problem‐solving situations. Argues that time should be put aside for managers and organizations to learn from experience.
