BUILDING THE EMPOWERED ORGANIZATION
Abstract
Building an empowered organization can deliver many benefits: continuous improvement in quality and productivity; reduced operational costs; reduced need for supervision; greater job ownership and commitment; clearer goals; enhanced job satisfaction. The financial rewards are obvious. But empowerment is not a quick fix for a fundamentally flawed commercial strategy or ineffective work processes. It takes time to build an empowered organization which is then more fundamentally aligned with the core business.
