Money measures of land
Abstract
Summarizes the results of a recent research project undertaken to find out ways to measure how public land is used. Considers the main problem of measuring public land for strategic purposes to lie in disagreement over the method of measurement, reporting the project′s conclusion to be that opportunity cost is the correct money measure of landed property, with caveats about floating value, whether the cost should be expressed as a capital sum or an amount per annum, and that other methods of money measurement may be more appropriate to specific purposes.
