The employee’s equation

Abstract
Introduces the concept of the “the employee′s equation” as a device for helping managers to think about what they are doing in terms of the effects it may have on employees and their productivity. Suggest that managers keep in mind that the basic equation from the employee′s perspective is: does my gain = my input, as well as considering their own equation: does employee input = employee compensation. Surmises that organisations rest on balancing these equations.
