As of August 2, 2013 Lackwerke Peters GmbH & Co KG is certified as Authorized Economic Operator Full (AEO-F) – customs simplifications/security and safety.

Assigned by the customs authorities, the status of authorized economic operator proves that customs provisions were fully implemented and that the company is trustworthy, besides having a proper bookkeeping and complying with safety regulations in order to secure the entire supply chain.

A spokesman for Peters said “As a manufacturer, we are one of the first links in the supply chain. Our safety precautions lay the foundation against manipulations and terrorist acts, since our goods are classified, through pre-defined checks, to be safe before they are dispatched.

This way, our exports to approx. 87 countries contribute to a high level of security in international goods movement. As a result, this simplified shipping scheme is a competitive advantage for our customers’ benefit”.

The person responsible for implementing this project is Tanja Riebandt, Dispatch and Export Manager, who developed and implemented the respective measures and precautions in cooperation with Dr Thorsten Meyer, Plant Manager and Aviation Safety Officer.

In this context, the status of known consignor received from the German Federal Office of Civil Aeronautics in June is also worth mentioning. This status of known consignor requires the implementation of similar specific safety precautions in the company, to ensure that only secure cargo is loaded into the airplane and to dispense with time and cost consuming visual inspections or X-ray checks prior to loading.

Based on these two certificates, one from the customs authorities and one made out by the Federal Office of Civil Aeronautics, Peters has set up a standard that fulfills all current safety regulations and that contributes to maintaining and even extending export volumes.
