Abstract
Contains a brief personal reminiscence about Frederick Taylor, as Luther Gulick (1892‐1993), often known as the dean of US public administration, knew him during the last year (1914‐1915) of Taylor′s life. Examines Gulick′s 1931 introductory remarks, on “Public administration, a field in urgent need of scientific management”, before a session of the annual meeting of the US Taylor Society in New York City.
