Abstract

Office administrative costs can escalate if they are not carefully controlled. Discrete event simulation is an effective tool which can be used to find more efficient ways of managing the office. Examines the application of a desktop computer simulation package to model the work of a small office’s staff. The simulation package shows how efficiency might be improved by moderating available resources and times taken to complete tasks. Expounds principles which are applicable to many different aspects of management.
