Abstract
It has often been suggested that propositional analysis (PA) can provide a consistent basis for modelling the indexing process. Describes and exemplifies the application of indexing of PA, together with the associated Kintsch/Van Dijk model of text comprehension and production. Discusses limitations of the technique.
