Prospects for New Information Technology in Nigerian Libraries

Abstract

The importance of information for national development is highlighted, and the desire of many libraries in Nigeria to automate their services is explained. The problems being faced by libraries in Nigeria in this process are discussed and suggestions are offered which might help to make their plans a reality despite economic constraints.
