Expanding and developing the theoretical implications of socialist market economy with China’s experience.

In the course of exploring the development of a market economy, China has given full play to the advantages of the socialist system, which has distinguished itself from the Western countries and some of its developing peers. China's market economy is not directly transplanted and copied from the West. China not only insists on growing its market economy but also unswervingly sticks to the socialist orientation of its market economy.

So far, the socialist market economy has proved to be more effective than the conventional one-sided, planned economy and also outperforms the capitalist market economy.

The socialist market economy has surpassed the conventional planned economy and the capitalist market economy – it is a reconstructed and reshaped mechanism and system as well as a successful and new path of market economy explored by China through reform and opening up, rather than a counterpart of Western market economy or the simple combination of socialism and market economy.

Higher education institutions and their lecturers are strategic agents and main drivers that contribute to circular economy transition. This requires them to understand the key circular economy competencies and how to integrate circular economy holistically into their curricula with the suitable teaching and learning approaches. This study aims to support them by providing an overview on the characteristics of education for the circular economy (ECE) and suggestions to lecturers to further develop their curricula.

The data consisted of scientific articles (n = 22) describing circular economy courses in higher education. Qualitative content analysis with quantitative features was performed on the selected articles to answer the research question.

The findings confirm that the system’s focus is the key issue in ECE. However, to integrate circular economy holistically into the curricula, ECE should be implemented more widely in the context of different industries and market contexts to find innovative teaching and learning approaches. The demand side needs to be incorporated in the courses, as systemic transformation is also about transforming consumption. All levels of implementation and circular economy objectives should be included in courses to promote systems thinking. In addition, innovative forms of real workplace interaction should be increased.

As ECE has started to emerge as a new field of study, this article provides the first integrated overview of the topic.

The impact of the sharing economy on traditional businesses has largely been analysed from both company and consumer perspectives. In the case of the latter, scholars have produced a rich field of research into different aspects of consumer behaviour and the way it is reshaped in these alternative consumption patterns. This study aims to provide a systematization of these studies and to develop a model for consumer behaviour in the sharing economy.

Following a three-step approach, a systematic literature review has been performed to analyse and classify 108 scientific papers about consumer behaviour in the sharing economy.

Four main research topics came up from the analysis: sharing approach, consumption pattern, post-purchase behaviour and sustainability. Basing on these clusters, the double-loop model of consumer behaviour in the sharing economy is presented and discussed.

The research allows to provide scholars and practitioners with the state of the art on consumer behaviour in sharing economy and to draft future research avenues to orient research and practice in the field.

With the development of science and technology, the acceleration of urbanization, and the increasing prominence of eco-environmental problems, how to coordinate the relationship between economic development and the natural environment becomes a research hotspot for related research institutions at home and abroad. Thus, we conducted research on the planning framework of the circular economy eco-city. We introduced the theoretical basis of circular economy and eco-city; analyzed the current situation of Wafangdian from the aspects of economy, environment, and society; and established the eco-city index evaluation system based on circular economy. We also employed principal component analysis to confirm the weighting of each index, evaluated the economic situation of Wafangdian using the sum of the weightings, analyzed the economic development status of the city from 2011 to 2015, and identified the advantages and disadvantages to the cycle of economic development in Wafangdian. Finally, we provided several suggestions on the circular economy in the construction of the Wafangdian eco-city from large, medium, and small hierarchies. Practices have shown that research on the planning framework of the circular economy eco-city has a positive effect on the sustainable development of humans and nature.

This paper examines the effectiveness of the social and political factors as the determinants of antidumping duties against the transition economies. The empirical evidence shows that protectionist pressures tend to be strengthened against them with low labor standards, although protectionist tendencies with respect to social dumping are not so apparent in actual impositions of antidumping duties. There is a weak evidence that the different degrees of democraticness influenced the protectionism against the transition economies during the late 1990s, while such an effect is not found during the period of 2002-2006, as the concerned countries passed the initial stage of transition.

The article attempts to reassess the world economy with an eye to understanding what is automatic about it and thus beyond the control of national economies. Towards that end, Schumpeterian analysis is applied in an effort to illustrate how changes occur and how such changes affect discrete units or subsets of international capitalism. The discussion suggests that firms with leadership roles in national economies may bring those economies down with them if they lose their position in the world economy. It also suggests that the international economy may provide firms with a more flexible climate which in turn may prolong their effective lives. The major policy implication for governments is that such institutions may no longer have it within their preserves to control economic activities spawned in the international arena.

The consolidation of numerous highly‐fragmented US service industries has attracted considerable capital inflows during the 1990s. Fundamental questions about this phenomenon include the sources of value in consolidations, and how these firms avoid the diseconomies of scale and scope noted in the service management literature. This paper introduces the consolidation phenomenon, discusses relevant theory, and begins to develop a framework useful in the understanding of scope economies for services.

The paper offers a new view of the process of post‐Communist transformation of an economy. The collapse of the Communist regime had the result that with rare exceptions all goods produced in these countries were incompatible with international standards due to low quality and/or high prices. The economy of that type can be referred to as “dead” economy, or “necroeconomy”. “Routine”, which has been deeply rooted in the command economy over many decades, is the reproductive base of necroeconomy. The “routine” which reproduces necroeconomy depends, inter alia, on the behavior of the homo transformaticus, who in the realm of entrepreneurship assumes a title of “post‐delets”. The end of necroeconomy is the only true indicator of the end of post‐Communist transformation.

High-quality development of marine economy is a new concept put forward in response to the current national strategy in China. The purpose of this paper is to thoroughly understand the connotation and significance of high-quality development of marine economy through literature review, and further analyze the prospects for further research.

The authors first use the information visualization technology of CiteSpace to present a systematic review of the published literature from 2010 to 2019. Then, the authors analyze the researches on high-quality development of marine economy in terms of connotation, evaluation dimension, development path and guarantee mechanism.

Analysis results show that there is still insufficient understanding of the differences and links between the high-quality development of marine economy and the construction of marine power, intelligent ocean and transparent ocean.

Based on a thorough understanding of the subject, this paper puts forward the direction of further research on evaluation index system, path design scheme and policy system construction for high-quality development of marine economy.
