Abstract
Purpose
This article has two main aims. First, to observe the different causes of public (dis)value. Second, to explore, through a case study, an example of public value regeneration through the social reuse of assets seized from criminal organizations.
Design/methodology/approach
This is a theoretical article with a case study, utilizing semi-structured interviews.
Findings
The study analyzes the factors resulting from the regeneration of new public value within an initially compromised context. This is achieved by ‘freeing’ and converting properties seized from the Mafia in public goods available to the community (Plus-Value). The article finds that the different causes of public (dis)value are Mafia infiltration in public goods, corruption, tax evasion, abstaining from voting, (ab)use of power and (ab)use of law.
Practical implications
The study may help both scholars and practitioners to identify strategies to offset (dis)value factors, something that would be easy to imagine as having managerial implications.
Social implications
The value regenerated with respect to properties confiscated from the Mafia and then converted to social activities for the community highlights how it is possible to transform public (dis)value to public value.
Originality/value
The article explores a little examined area of public value, that is the destruction of value or (dis)value.

Abstract
This research aims to investigate the process of value creation, value delivery, and value capture in project-based companies. Most previous research focused on companies that operate regularly and offer manufactured products or services. This research used companies in the field of information technology that developed software to explain how value creation, value delivery, and value capture occurred. A case study with qualitative research was applied to analyze between cases. Empirical findings showed that companies carry out six activities to ensure that value creation, value delivery, and value capture can be realized in the software development process. The six activities were iterative and not a rigid sequence. This research was limited to the software industry, and further research can test the results of this study by using a survey to increase the generalizability theory developed in this study.

Since the introduction of the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012, there has been a common misconception that Social Value is inherently about Procurement. We think that the process of Procurement is a means through which questions can be asked around Social Value commitments; however, Social Value should come into dialogue way before a tender exercise. It must be at the forefront of political visioning, strategy development, officer behaviour and the design of goods and services. In this chapter, we explore how Public Authorities and other Anchor Institutions can embed Social Value into everything they do, utilising Commissioning and Procurement as the basis.

Abstract
Purpose – The purpose of this research is to know the public discovery of the concept of time value of money with economic value of time.
Design/Methodology/Approach – The method of research involved a causal research design in North Sumatera Province, Indonesia. The data used are primary data sourced from questionnaires distributed to 112 random respondents. Data were analyzed using the SEM method with Smart PLS software.
Findings – The results show that the public do not know exactly the application and the concept of “time value of money” and the economic value of time.
Research Limitations/Implications – The limitation of this study is that it was conducted on heterogeneous Medan city samples and did not extend to other cities in North Sumatra with large samples. The study has implications on the socialization of the community’s understanding of the concept of time value of money with the economic value of time.
Originality/Value – This study has value in that it compares the understanding of the society over the concept model of time value of money and the economic value of time.

In this response, we address the thoughtful commentaries by Chen and Tsui, and Erez and highlight three overarching themes emerging from their contributions. First, we address the challenge of balancing complexity and parsimony in our model of values, HRM practices and fit in cross-cultural contexts. Second, we provide further explanations of the linkages between societal and organizational values. Third, we address the question of whether culture and climate should be treated as separate constructs in the model. In doing so, we hope to stimulate future progress in multi-level and cross-cultural perspectives of HRM and fit.

Abstract
This chapter discusses the strengths and challenges posed by the chapter by Aumann and Ostroff entitled, “Multi-Level Fit: An Integrative Framework for Understanding HRM Practices in Cross-Cultural Contexts.” In addition, this chapter proposes an alternative multi-level model of culture, which consists of structural and dynamic dimensions with culture's strength as a moderator of the top-down bottom-up dynamic processes. This model assumes that there is a fit between the value system and the HRM practices, as they represent two layers of culture – visible and less visible. Yet, the fit can be interrupted when HRM practices are transferred across cultures. The chapter further discusses when HRM practices are rejected and when they are accepted despite the misfit.
